Slipping Through My Fingers – Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried
A very emotional song and when I had a glance at the comments to this song I found the following:
I remember watching mama mia with my mom about a month before she passed away. During this scene she started sobing and I didn’t really understand at the time, I hugged her and tried to comfort her, I was only about 11. Now I realize that it was because she knew she would never get to have this with me, she’d never see me grow up or get married. Now I’m 18 and enrolling in college.
I love you mom, I hope I make you proud.
Marjan Shaki – Nur für mich
Man, wie singt sie das Lied von Eponine toll, wobei sie laut der deutschen Wikipedia noch nie in Les Miserables gesungen und gespielt hat.
Je schneller Du rennst, desto entfernter bist Du vom Ziel. Vom Ziel, vom Ziel. Von welchem Ziel? So ist das Spiel.

Lea Salonga – On My Own (At Lytham Festival 2017)
I DREAMED A DREAM / LES MISERABLES (Lea Salonga live at The Venue)
The Venue, Hammond, Indiana. March 19, 2011. It is such a privilege to watch this performance live. Lea Salonga’s take on Fantine definitely added depth to the character of Victor Hugo’s classic turned Broadway phenomenon Les Miserables. Her interpretation of this song is so complex, it evokes anger, pain, despair, love, nostalgia and misery. Yaiks. When you close your eyes and just listen to the crisp tone of her voice, it sounds like you are transported right at the scene. I have been watching her performance of this song on the Les Miz stage, but even without all the costume and set, her delivery is definitely genius. Having been Marius in a production of this musical in the Philippines, I just fell in love with lea’s voice even more.
And of course “I dreamed a dream” is one of those smash hits of Les Mis which makes Les Mis Les Mis – incredibly! 😉
Lea Salonga – The Movie In My Mind / Last Night of the World (with Jon Lee) at Lytham Festival 2017
Great performance and a good reason to watch the show again – perhaps at the Broadway?
