Heute vor 20 Jahren präsentierte der damalige iCEO Steve Jobs auf der Macword Expo in Boston den legendären Deal mit Microsoft (Bill Gates sprach per Videoeinblendung ebenfalls).
Das schmeckte den Apple-Jüngern damals alles andere als gut, sicherte Apple aber die Zahlungsfähigkeit und ganz klar das Überleben.
So, the era of setting this up as a competition between Apple and Microsoft is over as far as I’m concerned. This is about getting healthy, and this is about Apple being able to make incredibly great contributions to the industry, to get healthy and prosper again.
Man stelle sich die Welt ohne Apple vor: Wir würden heute mit einer Art Smartphone rumdatteln, das den Spaß eines Blackberries verbreiten würde. Netbooks und anderer Müll würde die Rucksäcke der Leute verstopfen und Musik und Videos würden wir über einen Archos oder Zune mehr schlecht als recht konsumieren – keine schöne Vorstellung!. 😉
